Indy Back Yard

The Indy House back yard has a ton of space so we budgeted some money when we first moved here to be able to make it both entertaining and also have enough room for the dog’s to play.

We decided to start by creating two deck areas. One would be for additional seating on the back porch and the other would be for watching outdoor movies. We made homemade benches and coffee tables for each deck and used some budget to buy some cool decorations for each. We used a white vinyl sheet for the projector screen and used Tiki torches to light the areas. We also got a cheap fire pit and used edging blocks to make it look more permanent.

After the decks were complete, we built a pallet bar and decorated the patio area to be like an outdoor cafe.

We had two trees in the back yard that were perfect for hanging a hammock, so we hung one of those next! After our dog ate the first hammock (lol) we decided to get a more heavy duty version and hang another.

We then hired a concrete company to come in and pour a slab of concrete for a basketball court. Sarah and I painted on the lines and then put the hoop together. It has been amazingly fun to be able to play every day!

Somewhere in between the decks and the completion of the basketball court, we decided that it would be really fun to have an outdoor bowling alley. So one afternoon I built one.

Our last project in the back yard (besides the tiny house) was to turn the old swing set that was there into a storage area/tree house cafe. We decorated the upper part of the swing set into an eating area and the boxed in the lower area for a storage shed.
